How to Play
Welcome to SwiftGuess Lyrics, a musical trivia game where you guess the song based on lyrics!
Read the posted Lyrics, then make your best guess. You only get six guesses, so make them count!
Return each day for a new challenge! or play to your heart's content with Unlimited™ mode!

Daily Mode Rules
- Each day, a new lyric snippet is shown from a randomly selected song
- You have six attempts to guess the correct song
- If you do not get it correct at the end of six guesses, the song will remain a mystery
- The name of the song will not show up in the lyrics
- After each guess, you'll see how close you were for both the track number and the album:
- Green means exact match.
- Yellow means you're close (within 1-2 songs or albums).
- Red means you're far off (3+ songs or albums away).
- Type your guess and use the autocomplete to select a valid song
- Invalid songs cannot be submitted, so don't worry about messing it up and losing a guess
- It's currently not possible to play prior dates, that functionality might be added later!
Unlimited™ Mode Rules
Turning on Unlimited™ means:
- A totally random song is selected just for you
- There's no socials sharing (yet)
- The random song is revealed at the end even if you don't guess it
- Your personal streaks, averages and other metrics are per-device so they won't follow you around
- It's almost unlimited, there are rate limits to slow abuse and prevent cheating
Hard Mode™ Difficulty (coming soon)
Turning on Hard Mode™ means:
- Any extra songs from Deluxe/Anthology albums are included
- Any Vault tracks are included
- Singles, songs from compilations, and non-album songs are not included (such as Christmas Tree Farm, Live Albums, Remixes, etc)

For the nerds: I wanted to experiment with new technology, and this is using a whole new tech stack I've never used before. This runs on CloudFlare Workers, CloudFlare KV, Alpine.js, and Tailwind. Lyric data from wjakethompson. It's been a lot of fun. Claude 🤖 helped me a lot!

What We Don't Do
- We don't use cookies or tracking scripts
- We don't collect or store any personal information
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone
- We don't use analytics or advertising services
What We Do
- Temporary IP Storage: We keep your IP address for up to 24 hours to track your daily guesses
- Aggregated Data: After the day resets, your IP address is automatically removed and your guesses are aggregated anonymously with all other players for that day's statistics
- Local Storage: Your game preferences (like whether you've visited before) and your Unlimited™ mode stats (games played, wins, streaks, and averages) are stored only in your browser's local storage and never leave your device
That's it! We only collect what's necessary to make the game work, and we get rid of it as soon as we can.
